Flax seed oils are generally available in the form of pills or capsules for ingestion to enable healthy functioning of the body by boosting its immune system and preventing cardiac problems and diabetes. In addition to this use of flaxseed oil, it has been confirmed through experimentation and customer views that it can be effectively used for hair and skin treatment as well.

Flaxseed Oil for Hair Treatment

The flaxseed oil for hair can be used to enhance hair growth, prevent hair fall and improve the overall condition of hair. The Omega-3 fatty acid present in flax seed oils, keeps the body strong which is very important for healthy hair. It also promotes hair growth from the roots. The basic reasons for hair fall are hormonal changes and other deficiencies in men and women. Omega-3 in flaxseed oil for hair prevents hair fall by keeping hormonal and nutritional balance in the body. The oil, when applied directly, also improves the texture of hair, making them glossier and easier to handle as it provides the necessary nourishment to the scalp and hair.

Flaxseed Oil for Skin Treatment

The oil was used as a skin balm in primitive times due to its anti-allergic and soothing nature. For the same reason it can be used in the treatment of skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and rosacea through ingestion of the capsule or by external application on infected parts. For sunburns, use of oil on affected parts reduces itching and redness.

Flaxseed oil removes the oil from the blocked pores of the skin, thereby preventing and healing acne. It has also been demonstrated by experimentation that intake of flax seed oils can greatly improve the condition of scalp, thus preventing dandruff, itching, redness and serious infections such as psoriasis. However, it must be kept in mind that every cosmetic product has a varied effect from user to user; therefore, the oil must be used only after prescription from a skin specialist.
